Designer Victoria Beckham says of her collection: "I want to design what I want to wear".

Victoria Beckham showed her spring-summer 2013 collection ready-to-wear in the gorgeous Astor Hall of the New York Public Library on the Sunday morning of New York Fashion Week. When Beckham launched her collection in 2009, the fashion industry didn't really take her seriously, but ex Posh Spice quickly gained respect and commercial success for creating luxe ladylike, body-conscious dresses.

Victoria Beckham has its own, unique sense of style, sometimes it seems that elegance in her blood. And let the show SS2013 we do not see the heels, only flat sandals by Manolo Blahnik, we do not care very much. SS2013 collection by Victoria's own words — a rethinking of her own sense of elegance, its evolution. However, the rules remain the same: no prints, bright colors, only the local color and elegance of rare fabrics. It's very organic collection — it's both still the same Victoria, and something completely new.

Victoria Beckham SSC 2013 collection inspired by urban safari, sport style and men's clothes. Signature silhouettes and details have been referenced and progressed in new forms with contrast and texture. Victoria Beckham's gone for a fresh and fun direction this season. While we're used to seeing sophisticated knee-length, structured sheaths from the designer, for Spring Summer '13, it's all about the short and flippy hemlines, tennis-inspired skirts and sporty aesthetic. Collection has only 4 colors: black, white, bright orange and sandy.  The designer moved into younger, livelier territory with tiered minis, some edged with sheer pleats, and single stripe of black or poppy orange. Blouses were borrowed from the boys, but designed with a delicate softness.

I love...

Victoria looked tearful as she took her catwalk bow. "I can't believe I cried," she said afterwards. "I'm not really a cryer. But this matters so much. It matters more than it probably should."
