SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 / FASHION

"It's brutal. Just sex appeal and strength, with no romance and no emotion,"
Marc Jacobs described the collection.

Marc Jacobs presented his spring  eponymous collection at New York Fashion Week.
After a movie at Baltic Festival - Louie Vuitton & Marc Jacobs - behind the scenes of the designer and his big team work before showcase, I was excited to see this catwalk at NFW (on FashionTV)
The Marc Jacobs catwalk show is the gravitational center of New York fashion week. Over six months, a team of hundreds and a budget of millions go into producing a collection of, in this instance, 45 outfits.

Marc Jacobs Spring 2013 collection has a definite retro vibe, looking to the 1950’s and 1960’s for inspiration, such as the black and white giraffe coat dress and skirt (with matching giraffe booties!) but with a modern twist, skirt are worn low on the hips to expose the waist.
Based on his spring 2013 presentation, there won’t be any shortage of stripes come spring -- vertical, horizontal, wide and narrow in mostly  black, white and neutral shades.  Jacobs used stripes on suit jackets, blouses, skirts, daytime bags, clutches, evening dresses and the t-shirt, that model Ruby Jean Wilson wore down the runway with only black underwear and pointy-toe low-heeled pumps to kick off the show.
I like this collection and the idea of black and white stripes! Something fresh, sexy, cold, graphic shapes! I'm sure this trend will be very popular in  Spring 2013.
So, if you love stripes, you’re going to love this Marc Jacobs collection!
